The Indian Institute of Management and Engineering Society (IIMES), Ghaziabad was registered under the Societies' Registration Act to establish Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College (AKGEC) in 1998. The society was formed by a group of educationists and industrialists. The latest undertaking of the society is Ajay Kumar Garg Institute of Management (AKGIM) which run The AICTE approved MBA program.
IIMES also operates the AKG Engineering College, which has the distinction of being one of the few self financed institutes to get ISO: 2000 certification by BSI, UK and accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). AKGEC offers B. Tech. courses in 5 branches of engineering, M.Tech. in (Automation & Robotics, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Power & Energy Systems)and MCA, approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to UP Technical University.
Due to its vision to impart technical competence with perfection, AKG Engineering College has emerged as a center of excellence and has been ranked as No. 1 by the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University among all the engineering colleges under AKTU, on the basis of students' results and merit and received academic excellence award from Honorable Governor of U.P.
Carrying on its vision further, the society is determined to establish AKGIM, as one of the leading B Schools in the country.
