Internship and Live Projects
At AKGIM, students are expected to complete a rigorous six to eight-week summer training program at leading corporations, where they engage in projects of strategic relevance to the organizations. This experience culminates in a presentation and a viva-voce assessment, conducted by a panel of external examiners. In addition to the summer training, students are also assigned smaller projects throughout the academic term to enhance their practical skills and deepen their understanding of real-world applications. These initiatives ensure that students integrate theoretical knowledge with practical experience, equipping them with the tools necessary for success in the professional world.
The institute places a high priority on bridging the gap between academic learning and industry demands. Through programs such as SPEED and other initiatives, the institute fosters development of both technical expertise and essential soft skills. These initiatives focus not only on technical proficiency but also on the behavioral and attitudinal growth of students, ensuring they are well-prepared to navigate the dynamic challenges of the industry. Continuous interaction with industry leaders and the organization of seminars on emerging technologies further provide students with invaluable exposure to contemporary industry practices, keeping them abreast of the latest trends.
The Training & Placement Cell at AKGIM plays a pivotal role in ensuring that students are placed in leading organizations. The cell, supported by a dedicated team of students, actively works to create opportunities for students by fostering strong industry connections. It conducts detailed assessments to identify students' strengths in specific areas, ensuring they are matched with the most suitable opportunities based on their skills and interests. Furthermore, the Placement Cell publishes a comprehensive placement brochure that highlights the unique strengths and capabilities of AKGIM students, thereby attracting potential employers.
In addition to industry engagement, the Placement Cell organizes pre-placement talks, where representatives from leading companies provide insights into their organizations and recruitment processes. These sessions give students a firsthand understanding of the expectations and requirements of the corporate world. Placement Cell offers specialized coaching for written tests, group discussions, and personal interviews, ensuring that students are ready to meet the selection criteria set by employers.
