AKGIM organised Speech competition on “Women Empowerment; 75 Years of Independence Reality or Dream?”on 26th Aug 2021 in support of MISSION SHAKTI” Campaign, an Initiative of Government of Uttar Pradesh. Students from both First and Second year participated with full enthusiasm. Event also had male students who shared their opinion on the topic. There was neck to neck competition among the students. On the basis of Judgement of Faculty Judges,AnushkaGupta from MBA First year was declared as winner. Despite the University exams going on, all students participated whole heartedly and enjoyed the event.
AKGIM organized an event under the program Nari Shakti mission initiated by the government of India. Two faculties members Dr. Simmi Khurana and Dr. Manu Priya visited Kazipura School on 13th August 2021 for educating village women about their health issues. More than 20 women participated in the event. Dr. Simmi Khurana hosted the event and discussed various topics on personal Hygiene, Iron deficiency, Discipline, Exercise & the importance of Vitamin D3.Numerous questions were asked by the participants such as how to improve the haemoglobin and what steps they should take for good health. Dr. Simmi Khurana suggested several ways to improve their diet and advised them to do exercise daily for at least half an hour. She also suggested getting a periodic health check-up for early detection of disease. Dr. Manu Priya gave information on covid-19 and sensitized them on how to take precautions and also guided them about the vaccination. Some ladies were scared of taking the vaccination. Dr. Manu Priya explained in detail the risk vs benefits of taking the vaccination.She also discussed the vaccination for those ladies who are pregnant and asked them to consult with doctors before taking the vaccination. Some of the participants were not aware of the registration process, slot & place of vaccination. They were briefed about the same. Sanitary pads were distributed among the women at the end of the program The program ended at 11:30 pm.
