Annual Budget Conclave - 24 Panel Discussion

On 29th Feb 2024 AKGIM organised Annual Budget Conclave. Student panel Discussion “Empowering Growth – The vision of Viksit Bharat” was conducted during the event. A diverse group of students participated for a panel discussion, where they shared their perspectives on how 2024 Budget will propel economic growth of India. The panel aimed to foster a deeper understanding of student experiences and encourage dialogue between student and audience. All the Panellists participated enthusiastically.

The topic for Panel Discussion was :

1. Widening of Tax Bases

2. Developing Digital, Physical and Social Infrastructure

3. Strengthening Startup’s

Welcome note was delivered by the Director AKGIM, Dr TR Pandey. Conclave was attended by all the faculties and Students.

“ANNUAL BUDGET CONCLAVE 2023”

Ajay Kumar Garg Institute of Management (AKGIM) recently hosted its Annual Budget Conclave 2023 on 10th Feb on the Theme “India’s Focus towards Growth & Manufacturing with Fiscal Consolidation in Post-Pandemic Era”.

The conclave was focused on the analysis of the Union Budget 2023. The event was honoured with the presence of distinguished guests Dr. Ravi Prakash Singh, Vice President and Head of Research in ShareIndia Securities Ltd, Prof. Rajeev Sijariya, Dean of the Special Centre for E-Learning (SCEL) at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Director AKGIM, Dr. TR. Pandey.

The event began with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony as a tribute to Maa Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge. The Institute’s Director welcomed the guests and enlightened attendees with his words of wisdom. The Guest Speakers then shared their interpretations of the Union-Budget 2023 with the students in the Conclave.

The conclave was followed by Debate Competition on the topic “Budget 2023 Cares for Poor and Respects the Wealth Creators”, an E- Poster Presentation with the theme of the poster being “Union Budget 2023: A Pathway to Dreams for India”. PowerPoint Presentation on “Union Budget 2023 and its thrust areas for Indian Economy” was held. Different competitions were held simultaneously in the AKGIM campus, students participated with enthusiasm and rigorous preparation.

The debate competition was won by Yash Gupta and Nistha Sharma. The winner of the e-poster was Anubhav Singh, Anu Bhardwaj, and Mohd. Rauf. Runner up position was won by Sakhi Aneja, Parul Pal, and Sachin Kumar. For the Powerpoint presentation Irfan Khan, Mahak Kamboj and Anjali Khatree got the 1st position followed by runner-up team Devangi Raghav, Aadhya Mishra, and Meenakshi Yadav.

“AKGIM Budget Conclave 2022 (ABC-2022)”

AKGIM conducted its Annual Budget Conclave, “ABC–2022” on February 05, 2022 on a Virtual Platform. This year Theme of the Budget Conclave was “Budget 2022: Inclusive Development for Aspirational India”.

The event started with an address of Adv (CA) Vipin Garg, Lead Advisor, VGNC. He threw some light on the Union Budget-2022 and how it will lead to inclusive growth for India. Dr. Shiv S. Tripathi, Assistant professor, MDI Gurgaon, talked about Budget-2022 sector wise and discussed how this budget will impact different sectors of the country.

The Conclave also witnessed two intra-college competitions, Debate Competition and e- Poster Presentation Competition. All the events got overwhelming response from the students of MBA. Topic of Debate was “Indian Youth, Really Aspirational towards Growth of India?”. Various students participated in the event and after having neck to neck competition, Aayushi Agarwal (MBA I Year) emerged as winner.

“Aspirations of Young India towards Inclusive Growth” was the theme of e-Poster Competition. Using various IT skills, students showcased their innovative virtual skills and enthusiastically participated in the event. Team No. 5 comprising of Anushka Gupta, Kritika Shukla, Altmash Khan (MBA II Year) was declared as winners. Director AKGIM, Dr. T. R. Pandey congratulated all the winners.

“AKGIM Budget Conclave 2021 (ABC-2021)”

AKGIM conducted its Annual Budget Conclave, “ABC–21” on February 12, 2021 on a Virtual Platform.

This year Theme of the Budget Conclave was “ Aatmnirbhar Bharat”. Conclave witnessed three intra college competitions, Debate Competition, E- Poster Competition and Power Point Poster Presentation. All the events got overwhelming response from the students.

Topic of Debate was “Budget 2021: A Giant Step towards Self Reliance”. Various Teams participated in the event and after having neck to neck competition Team No. 7 comprising of Ranjeet Singh, Rimjhim Saxena, Vaishali Chaudhary and Yogesh Chauhan emerged as winners.

“Aatmnirbhar Bharat” was the topic of E-Poster Competition. Using various IT skills, students showcased their innovative virtual skills and enthusiastically participated in the event. Team No.4 comprising of Megha Gupta, Priyanka Srivastava, Sonali Kaushik and Vaibhav Tyagi were declared as winners.

For Power Point Presentation different economic sectors were assigned to various teams. All teams presented their well-researched facts and figures related to the assigned topic. Beating the competition Team No.4 comprising of Nimisha Vishwakarma, Rahul Chaudhary, Shubhra Pandey and Tushar Verma emerged as winners . Their topic was ““Budget-2021 & Health Sector in India”. Director AKGIM, Dr TR Pandey congratulated all the winners.

“AKGIM Budget Conclave 2020 (ABC-2020)”

AKGIM organized Annual Budget Conclave (ABC-20) under the theme of “Role of Start-Ups in driving India towards Five Trillion Economy” on 14th February, 2020. The objective of this Conclave was to make the students aware about the Annual Budget-2020, presented by our current Finance Minister and Minister of Corporate Affairs, Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman.

The guests of the conclave were Mr. Anup Kapoor and Mr. Vipin Garg. Mr. Anup Kapoor, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Operations, Infosys BPM, emphasized on a series of far-reaching reforms, aimed at energizing the Indian economy with reference to role of start-ups in Indian economy. Mr. Kapoor emphasized that start-ups can create more jobs which mean more employment, and more employment means an improved economy. He further added that startups can also contribute to economic dynamism by spurring innovation and injecting competition.

The other speaker of the conclave Mr. Vipin Garg is a renowned Chartered Accountant having over 19 years of experience in the field of Finance, Taxation and Legal matters, discussed about the role and importance of including Pension plans and coverage for government employees and enabling establishment of a Pension Trust by the employees other than Government as a key section of Union Budget 2020-21 with many other such benefits including new taxable slabs. Dr. T.R. Pandey, Director, AKGIM, in his address in the conclave emphasized on the importance of taxation and role of start-ups in driving India towards five trillion economy in the Budget for the enhancement of the economy.

“AKGIM Budget Conclave 2018 (ABC-2018), Debate & Poster Making Competition”

AKGIM in association with Business World organized Annual Budget Conclave (ABC-18) under the theme of “Collective Prosperity through Education; Silver Lining for Sustainable Economic Growth” on 8th February, 2018. The objective of this Conclave was to make the students aware about the Annual Budget-2018, presented by our current Finance Minister and Minister of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Arun Jaitley. The chief guest of the programme Mr. Anil Kumar Shukla, Zonal Head, Equitas Bank, emphasized on the contribution of banks in the Annual Budget of the country. Mr. Shukla discussed the importance of banks contribution in the overall development of the economy as it's the banks that supervises majority of the government's projects in India. The key note speaker of the conclave Mr. Anurag Dubey, Manager, HR, CEBS Inc. discussed about the importance of Education in the development of Indian economy. Dr. T.R. Pandey, Director, AKGIM, in his address in the conclave emphasized on the importance of taxation in the Budget for the enhancement of the economy.

The Conclave was followed by Inter-college Debate and Poster making competition for students. The Topic of Debate was “For Economic Growth, Education plays a vital Role” and the Theme for Poster making was “Education, Key to Economic Growth”.This time the poster making was made digital. Competition got overwhelming response from various institutes like ITS Ghaziabad, ABES Ghaziabad, IMR Ghaziabad, INMANTEC Ghaziabad, Hi-Tech Ghaziabad etc. to name a few. Ms. Prerna of AKGIM, Ghaziabad stood First in debate competition followed by Ms. Disha Gupta of AKGIM, Ghaziabad who stood Second in competition. While in poster making competition the winning team comprised of Ms. Surbhi Chauhan & Ms. Tina Parashar of ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad and First-runner up was Ms. Akriti Gupta of IMS Engineering College, Ghaziabad.

“AKGIM Budget Conclave – 2017, Debate & Poster Making Competition”

KGIM in association with Business World organised Annual Budget Conclave (ABC-17) under the theme of “Swach Budget;Swasth GDP”on 15th February, 2017. The chief guest of the programme Dr. G. C. Tripathi, emphasised on the importance of tax in economy. He compared India with the top economies of the world like America, UK & China in terms of GDP. Dr. Tripathi also discussed why India with a population of around 1.34 billion has a GDP about 2 trillion dollars and only 2% people pay taxes. He also discussed the opportunities and challenges which would help India to gain GDP growth so as to compete with top economies of the world. The key note speaker of the conclave CA. Vipin Garg discussed about the Budget-2017 and its impact on the growth of Indian economy.

The Conclave was followed by Inter-college Debate and Poster making competition for students. The Topic of Debate was“Demonetisation has been a good Step” and the Theme for Poster making was “Demonetisation”.Competition got overwhelming response from various institutes. Mr. Krishna Nagarkoti of ABES, Ghaziabad stood First in debate competition followed by Ms. Ekta Sabbarwal of AKGIM, Ghaziabad and Third prize was bagged by Anupriya Pathak of ITS, Ghaziabad. While in poster making competition the winning team comprised of Ms. Gulafsha and Pragya of HRIT, Ghaziabad, First-runner up were Ayushi Tyagi and Sakshi Tomar of HI-Tech, Ghaziabad and Second-runner up team comprised of Rama Chaudhary and Saloni Goel of AKGIM, Ghaziabad.
