ABSTRACT
A revolution is going through Indian retail sector which is shifting to mobile-first consumer which increase digital penetration and undergoing through quick adoption of Artificial intelligence. This paper is an attempt to understand how AI automation is empowering Indian retailers in enhancing customer experience by personalisation through multiple diverse segments to various models and formats that are omnichannel formats to e-commerce to new tech oriented Indian Kirana stores. The paper has used Mixed method approach which includes case study analysis backed up by industry data. The study aims at figuring out improvements in customer engagements, operational efficiency and supply chain agility, moreover the paper attempts to explore challenges posed in Indian markets such as data privacy, regional languages processing and infrastructure gaps. The research also suggests its findings to focus on importance of localised AI strategies and ethical frameworks to scale personalization effectively in Indian market.
