“CHANAKYA-2019 Business Simulation Game for Professionals ”
(11th & 12th February 2019)

 

 

Ajay Kumar Garg Institute of Management (AKGIM) in association with Ghaziabad Management Association (GMA) organized Business Simulation Game called "CHANAKYA" on 11th & 12th February 2019. The game was facilitated and moderated by Mr. Vijay Singh and Mr. D K Gupta as the representative from Games division of All India Management Association (AIMA).

Chanakya is a computer-based simulated game that test business intelligence of participants by placing them in various decision making situations. It demonstrates how and why cross-functional aspect of business is important and has impact on managerial business decisions. The simulation game ‘Chanakya’ offers similar business opportunities to each of the participating team and it also provides competitive information and various other government announcements related to business during different stages of the game. This all created decision making situation and each participating team work out to maximize their profits under the given conditions.

 

 

AKGIM has been organizing AIMA’s Chanakya game time and again for last many years. Currently in 2019, total eight teams participated in this game. Each participated team composed of four participants from their parent organization. Teams from following companies and institutes participated:

The team from NTPC Ltd. was winner and the team from AKGIM was the runner up. In the valedictory session the Chief Guest Mr. S. M. Mittal, Managing Director, Sukriti Vidyut Udyog Pvt. Ltd. shared his thoughts on importance of ethics and values in business decision with the participants. Dr. Tripurari Pandey, Director AKGIM, Shri Vinay Gupta, Executive Director, GMA and Mr. S.M Mittal awarded trophies to the winner and runner-up team. All participants valued the understanding and experience they obtained through the exposure of simulation game. Participants also appreciate the facilitation carried by AKGIM.

 

 

 

 

 

 


“CHANAKYA Business Simulation Game 2016-17 for Professionals” (15th & 16thDecember 2016)

 

 

Ghaziabad Management Association organized a two day workshop in form of Management Simulation Business Game called "CHANAKYA" on 15th& 16thDecember 2016 at AKGIM campus. This game was conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA).

Shri Vinay Gupta, ED, GMA welcomed the guests and the participants and explained the importance of organizing such an event. The game was steered by Mr. D. K. Gupta & Shri Vijay Singh and from the Games division of AIMA.

Business Game 'Chanakya' is a simulation game where teams of four persons each are made to represent the decision makers of a company. They are required to take the most profitable decision for their company under the dynamic circumstances and vagaries created to simulate the actual business scenarios that can prevail. In this event, participation was in form of 9 teams from management cadre of Industries and faculty from Management Institutes.

NTPC Ltd. Dadri Plant
Shriram Pistons & Rings Ltd.

The team from NTPC was declared as the winner, the team from Ghaziabad Precision Products P. Ltd. was the first runner-up and the team from AKGIM was the second runner-up. CA. Anil Agarwal, Treasurer, GMA as Chief Guest and Director AKGEC, were present and gave away the winner and runner up Team trophies to the participants. Dr. Tripurari Pandey, Director, AKGIM and Shri Vinay Gupta, Executive Director, GMA were also present on the occasion. Individual prizes for winner and runners-up will be given away during the valedictory function of the Annual Convention, later this year.

This event was widely appreciated and enjoyed by all the participants. They assured that on commercial front and as a team, their vision has broadened and they have learnt a great deal in the game.

“Chanakya 2014 (28-29 Jan.2015)”



Ajay Kumar Garg Institute of Management along with Ghaziabad Management Association organized a two day workshop in form of Management Simulation Business Game called "CHANAKYA" on 28th & 29th January 2015 at AKGIM campus. This game was conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA). The event was steered by Shri Vijay Singh and Mr Shubham Basu from the Games division of AIMA.

 

Business Game 'Chanakya' is a simulation game where teams of four persons each are made to represent the decision makers of a company. They are required to take the most profitable decision for their company under circumstances and vagaries created to simulate the actual business scenarios that can prevail. This year "Chanakya" witnessed participation from 8 teams from management cadre of Industries and faculty from Management Institutes.

 

Participating teams were AKGIM, ABES, Continental Carbon, International Tobacco Co. Ltd. , NTPC, Shriram Pistons & Rings Ltd. GPPL and BEL The team from NTPC was declared winner and the team from Shriram Pistons & Rings Ltd. was the runners up. Sh. Arun Agarwal, President GMA, Dr. Tripurari Pandey, Director AKGIM and Shri Vinay Gupta Executive Director, GMA, gave away the winner and runner up trophies to the participants. Arun Agarwal, President, GMA was present as Chief Guest.

“Chanakya” Simulation Game(19-20 Dec 2013)

 

 

Once again, AKGIM was privileged to host "Chanakya", the simulation game on 19th & 20th of December 2013. Organised by AKGIM and GMA in association with AIIMA, Chankya let participants exposed to experiment to gallop a company in a competitive simulated environment without causing damage to a live company. It also helped participants find out the rationale of their action correlating with finance and economic environment and sensitizing themselves about human behaviour while working together. Through simulated Business games participants get a comprehensive view about competition in the business and tackling tactics and thereby are supposed to generate virtual profits and maintain market share.

 

This year "Chanakya" at AKGIM witnessed participants from companies like Continental Carbon, NTPC , Vimal organics, ITC, Shri Ram Pistons, Ghaziabad Precisions& Products Ltd. Simulator experts Mr. D K Gupta & Mr. Vijay Singh from All India Management Association facilitated the game in a very captivating manner. NTPC's Team comprising of Sh. P. K. Mishra, Sh.Tajinder Gupta, Sh.Vivek V.S. Mishra, Sh. Abhinav Kumar bagged winner's trophy followed by Continental Carbon's Sh.Lokesh Sharma, Sh.Abhishek Bhagwat, Sh.Tarun Joshi and Sh. Lokesh Mittal as runner up.

 

Mr. V K Jayaswal, Executive Director Shri Ram Pistons & Rings Ltd, Mr Arun Aggrawal, President GMA gave away the prizes. Dr. Tripurari Pandey, Director, AKGIM, Mr. Vinay Gupta, Executive Director, GMA, faculty members of AKGIM and event coordinator Prof. Ritesh Singhal were present on the occasion.

 

 


“Chanakya” Simulation Game( 21-22 Nov 2012)

 

 

AKGIM in association with Ghaziabad Management Association organized 2 days work shop on Management Simulation game “CHANAKYA”, conducted by an expert from AIIMA on 21st -22nd November 2012 at AKGIM.

 

The workshop attempted to let participants confront and feel the dynamisms of competitive market pressures thereby stimulating and improving the business skills of participants. Beauty of such simulation games is that it elicits participants to take decisions in totally virtual and predetermined situations; therefore, compelling them to enhance the pace of learning.
“Chanakya” witnessed participation from various business houses like NTPC, Bharat Heavy Electronics Limited, Continental Carbon India Limited, Shriram Pistons and others.

 

 

Game facilitator Mr. D.K Gupta and Mr. S.CTyagi from AIIMA made participants to work in teams . All the teams worked assiduously in a strategic manner to earn virtual profits.Mr. Vikal P Maheshwari, Ms. Sakshi, Mr. Soumik and Mr. R. Arthi of CCIL bagged first prize by generating maximum profits followed by BHEL as the runner up. Dr. R.K Agarwal, Director AKGEC gave away prizes to the winners. On the occasion were present Dr. TR Pandey, Director AKGIM and Shri Vinay Gupta Executive Director, GMA. Workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Ritesh Singhal, faculty Coordinator of the workshop.
